The Good News: Quit Smoking and Start Healing

Start Healing Now!

My last blog post outlined reasons to stop smoking. I'm sure some of those items were difficult to read for some of you smokers out there. Well, this week it's all about good news.  Within minutes of your last cigarette, your body starts healing.

Here's how it works:

20 minutes after your last cigarette: Your blood pressure and pulse rate lowers.

8 hours after your last cigarette: Carbon monoxide levels in your body decrease.

1 day after your last cigarette: Your risk of hear attack decreases.

2 days after your last cigarette: Your senses start to recover - taste and smell ability increases.

2 weeks - 3 months after your last cigarette: Coughing and wheezing decreases and circulation increases.

1-9 months after your last cigarette:Fatigue and shortness of breath decreases.

1 year after your last cigarette: Your risk of heart attack is 1/2 that of a smoker's risk.

5-15 years after your last cigaretteYour risk of stroke is 1/2 that of a smoker's risk.

10 years after your last cigarette: Your risk of cancer significantly drops.

15 years after your last cigarette: Most of your health risks resemble that of a non-smoker!

I hope you find these statistics as inspring as I do.  I would love to talk to you about strategies and methods to quit smoking. Please email me, stop by or give me a call when you're ready.
